HTC One Developer Edition pre-orders now available directly from HTC

19:46

HTC has started taking pre-orders of the HTC One Developer Edition. The phone is priced at $649.99 and features 64GB of internal storage, unlocked SIM and unlocked bootloader. The limited edition phone is only available to customers with a US zip code. HTC is not divulging how many units it plans on selling, but we have a suspicion that the HTC One Developer Edition will sell out long before its April 19th ship date.
Be sure to leave us a comment below to let us know if you’re planning on buying the HTC One Developer Edition or if you’re going to go with a subsidized HTC one from your service provider. We’re still not sure which way we’re planning to go, but there’s something really appealing about getting a limited edition developer device directly from HTC.
Update: It seems like HTC store is having some issues. we were finally able to order the phone while using our HTC One S. we suggest trying different computers if you’re not able to complete the checkout process or there’s the option of calling 1-866-416-3059 and placing the order over the phone. Good luck!
Update 2: HTC has emaield everyone who has pre-registered for the HTC One through htc.com with a promo code (3F27736D83) which will get you a free HTC One Double Dip or Double Dip Flip case when you pre-order the HTC One Developer Edition, Sprint, T-Mobile or unlocked 32GB model through htconeprereg.com. If you have already placed your order for the phone, you will need to cancel it and re-order through the website since they can not apply the promo code after the purchase and it can not be applied to purchases over the phone (we learned this the hard way).
On a more positive note,  HTC has confirmed to us that the $100 HTC One trade-up promotion does apply to the HTC One Developer Edition.
