HTC M8 granted dual-band Wi-Fi certification

00:56
As 2013 inches its way to a close, the HTC M8 (the successor to the HTC One) has been granted Wi-Fi certification with switchable 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. While the documentation provided by the WiFi Alliance doesn’t go into details regarding the HTC M8′s specs, it does show that the phone will features a/b/g/n/ac connectivity, Wi-Fi Direct and Miracast support.
So far, HTC M8 rumors have suggested that the phone will be released in Q1 of 2014 with a 5-inch 1080 display, Snapdragon 800 processor and the same UltraPixel camera found in the HTC One. While the rumored specs may not seem too exciting, we’d like to remind you that many of the rumored specs of the HTC One were wrong. Originally, rumors claimed that the HTC One would launch with a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro and a 13 megapixel imaging sensor composed of three stacked 4.3 UltraPixels sensors.
We’re sure there will be plenty more HTC M8 rumors over the coming weeks, so don’t be surprised if the handset’s specs sheets changes for the better as we get closer to its February unveiling.htc-m8-wifi-certification
