The title says it all. The AT&T will be the only carrier to offer the HTC One mini here in the US. HTC and AT&T have announced that the phone will go on sale August 23rd for $99.99 with a two year contract. Off contract pricing has yet to be unveiled, but we’re thinking a $399.99 sticker price will suite the HTC One mini just right.
Like the the European model, the AT&T HTC One mini comes with a 4.3-inch 720p display, 1.4 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and an 1800 mAh battery wrapped in an aluminum body that’s “shorter, thinner and lighter than the original HTC One.”
We’re excited that the HTC One mini is coming to the US, but we can’t begin to express our disappointment that the phone will only be available from AT&T. Fortunately, the word “exclusive” typically only applies to a phone’s name and styling. Since HTC has plans to allow carriers to tweak the HTC One mini, we could see an EVO or Droid branded phone with the same internals as the HTC One mini. You never know.
Will you be buying the HTC One mini when it launches on AT&T on August 23rd?
