Jason Mackenzie has just revealed that the HTC Droid DNA on Verizon and all US and Canadian variants of the HTC One will be skipping the Android 4.2 update and should be getting the latest Android 4.3 update by the end of September. Jason claims that HTC is working card to get the update certified (we’re assuming he’s making a reference to the various certification processes that carriers have for new software updates) in an effort to hit the end of September target.
This new information follows Jason’s tweet from yesterday which stated that the HTC One Developer Edition would jump to Android 4.3 rather than getting the Android 4.2 update first. We’re excited that HTC is making the right decisions for its customer to make sure their phones are taking advantage of all the latest features Android has to offer. Waiting until the end of September may not be pleasant, but this strategy will ensure that HTC is one of the first OEMs to roll out an Android 4.3 update on a flagship device.
