HTC confirms HTC One Developer Edition to launch on April 19th

00:19
Today may be all about Facebook Home and the new HTC First, but we’re sure you are probably more interested in learning that the HTC One Developer Edition with be available in the US on April 19th. The launch of the HTC One Developer Edition with coincide with the retail launch of the HTC One on Sprint and AT&T. T-Mobile and Cincinnati Bell should be launching the HTC One before the end of April as well, but neither service provider seems willing to commit to a launch date.
Unlike the HTC One which will be sold by service providers here in the US, the Developer Edition will be SIM and bootloader unlocked right out of the box. Most Android application developers could care less about an unlocked bootloader, but there’s a fairly large community of HTC fans who would love to get their hands on this phone. The 64GB HTC  One Developer Edition will sell for $649 and will be fully compatible with all 2G/3G/4G/LTE bands on AT&T’s network and should play nice with T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network in areas which have been re-farmed to use the 1900 MHz bands.
“The HTC One developer edition will be available for pre-order in the coming days through www.HTC.com and will be available for sale starting on April 19th.”
The idea of picking up a fully unlocked HTC One directly from HTC sounds appealing, but we’re not sure which route we’ll go when we purchase the HTC One. AT&T and T-Mobile are offering up some incredible freebies for those who pre-order the phone and HTC is kicking in an extra $100 cash back for anyone willing to send in an old phone.
Will you buy the HTC One Developer Edition directly from HTC or will you choose one of the more budget-friendly options offered by your service provider.
