We still have a few weeks to go before 2013 is here, but that doesn’t mean we have to wait that long to immerse ourselves in new details of the HTC M7 – HTC’s flagship Android phone for 2013. The last time we write about the HTC M7, we reported that it would feature a 5-inch HD display, a uni-body aluminum shell, Qualcomm APQ8064 quad-core processor and a 13 megapixel camera. Since then, it looks like the specs have changed a little, but the M7 will still be quite an impressive device.
According to Unwired View, the main draw of the HTC M7 will be its optically laminated 4.7-inch full HD 1080p display with a pixel density of 468ppi (40% higher than the iPhone 5). The HTC M7 will be powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The camera will also be quite impressive with an f/2.0 lens and 13 megapixel sensor for the main camera which features an advanced Cinesensor imaging chip capable of enhanced image quality and super slow-motion and HDR video capture. The front-facing camera on the HTC M7 will be able to capture 2 megapixel images and both will shoot video in full 1080p. The M7 is expected to run on Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5 and it is said to have a 2300 mAh battery.
Like the HTC 8X and HTC Droid DNA, the HTC M7 will feature a Beats-designed amplifier for the 3.5mm headphone jack and speakerphone, but the M7 will be the first phone in HTC’s Android lineup with a stereo speakerphone for improved audio quality. The last small improvement for the HTC m7 is its inclusion of the new 802.11ac WiFi standard which sports theoretical throughput that are three times higher than today’s 802.11n WLAN standard.
We’re still not sure where or when the HTC M7 will be unveiled, but the latest report indicated that Verizon and Sprint be picking it up with T-Mobile and AT&T possibly making the list as well. There are still a lot of unanswered questions about the HTC M7, so we’ll keep you posted is we come across any additional news.
