What’s that in the sky? It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s a Meteor! Okay, that’s a cheesy intro, but it is well suited for something that is named after something that is out of this world. The Meteor smartwatch by Kreyos is a product that literally fell from the sky and landed in my Facebook feed yesterday. Try to find more info about Kreyos and you will stumble around some contacts, but nothing pin-pointing about their company at the core. The Meteor project by Kreyos is still very much a mystery as it doesn’t appear to have gained any attention from some of the traditional media outlets that are big on new technology, but maybe Kreyos isn’t soliciting publicity from the bigger news outlets.
Their seven month old campaign is being broadcast on Facebook with some interaction on other social media networks as well, but mostly centered on Facebook where there are some interesting historical facts about the advancement of smart watches. The product itself is intriguing to me since it boasts that it does a few things better than current smartwatches on the market. For instance, the company says this watch is capable of accepting voice commands and will be able to change music tracks (playing on your phone) with the flick of your wrist. The Kreyos Facebook page says that the Meteor smartwatch will interact with multiple mobile operating systems like Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry with Bluetooth 4.0 support as well. We’re guessing the amount of OS support depends on the support of the developing community through the means of an SDK application. This line of smartwatch will come in 5 different colorful flavors: white, black, green, blue, and pink and we wonder if those bands are interchangeable, because a couple of them are a little bright for everyday wear around the office or those special events like your wedding. Never-the-less, I still have my eyes on that blue one.
Although the company has only had an online presence for seven months, we have word that Kreyos has offices across the globe that are prepared to launch this product June 17th, world wide with multi-language support.
